All pottery is manually inspected and only pieces which pass the highest standards are classified as first quality. An item is classified as a second where there is a marginal fault to the finish, the decoration or the shape. The fault is not structural, i.e. each piece still functions as intended and is usable. You can often get great bargains in seconds to top up your collection.
Unfortunately, seconds cannot normally be exchanged or replaced

Hard to see why these plates were seconds…topped up my original dinner service and no one would know the difference!

These plates were delivered speedily as promised and although seconds I could see no different standard to the originals. One criticism. I ordered two with different patterns but received two with the same pattern. Never mind .They are dinner plates and function as dinner plates should
