Salter have been inventing kitchen and homeware goods for over 260 years! They are probably one of the most sought after brands in the UK and are definitely a market leader when it comes to manufacturing bathroom and kitchen scales.
Salter began back in 1760 when two brothers started producing springs and steelyards in the West Midlands. The company then became established a decade later where they continued with this production line. In 1838 under new family management, Salter developed their inventions to produce a set of scales using a spring balance. This method is still used today. They went on to invent the first coin operated body weighing machine and as the decades passed, they moved with the times continually improving their designs. In 2008 they launched the first smart scale allowing users to store and view their results for comparison over a period of time.
Along with successful partnerships with famous chefs, Salter have extended their range beyond just scales and have a wide range of traditional and digital kitchen equipment that is popular for every day use in kitchens everywhere.
