Chris began his career in food at the tender age of 12, working in the kitchen of a local restaurant.

With his brother James, he opened 2 establishments in Plymouth - Tanners, a fine dining restaurant at The Prysten House, and The Barbican Kitchen, a smart brasserie within the 500 year old Plymouth Gin Distillery building.

Chris and James have published 3 books: For Chocolate Lovers, Ice Cream (Small Book of Good Taste) and Take Five Ingredients.

Tanners restaurant closed in 2014, and the brothers have recently opened a fish and chip shop in Looe and a gourmet pub in Royal Tunbridge Wells, The Kentish Hare.
