Robert Welch began designing practical, elegant and affordable products back in 1955. His first successful project was the introduction of stainless steel cutlery to the UK. He gradually built a fantastic reputation for his designs and soon became popular amongst traders and with celebrities and royals.
Robert then opened his own shop in 1969. He wanted to meet the people who were buying his products and felt this was the best way to find out exactly what they wanted. As the years went by he grew a small production and design team. His team developed accomplished designs that people still use and love today.
In the early 90s, Robert’s offspring joined his team and really helped to move the company forward. Even after his death, his children have continued with the business. They still work in the same building today and continue to expand their collection of award winning designs, many of which we are proud to bring to you here.
